Welcome!
Welcome to Culture Change Now! The only magazine solely dedicated to culture change in
nursing homes and long term care environments.
Published by Action Pact, Inc., this twice-yearly periodical for long term care
professionals is filled with how-to information and articles of inspiration for those
undertaking the deep culture change process.
Due to recent indications of interest, Culture Change Now! for the first time is
accepting advertising, subject to approval by the editorial staff.
Culture Change Now! is an excellent way to reach a very focused market of purchasers
and decision makers with your products or services.
Circulation
Culture Change Now! is an upstart publication with two print runs to date. Due to its
specialized content and focus Culture Change Now! has a very small paid subscription base.
The magazine is not audited by any circulation bureau, but the press run is 3000 and many
of the issues are given away to individuals at national conferences and also to
foundations and academic institutions. The paid subscription base is growing as more
individuals in the long term care industry are introduced to the magazine and more
facilities and corporations join the culture change movement.
Mission and Market
A basic understanding of culture change in long term care will help you identify with
our target audience. Essentially, culture change is about creating home inside a nursing
home. It is a radical departure and transformation process from the medical model of care,
adopted in the 1960s, to a social model of care - the way of the future.
It is not easy and can take years to make a successful transformation. Nursing homes
are changing into personal communities, not of wards or wings. They have private spaces
and family places and a chance to continue to live life with some measure of independence
and responsibility.
These homes are filled with greenery and flowers, with birds and fish and various
furry and lovable friends. Kitchens are small and homey. Large groups of elders are no
longer herded throughout the day, but rather set their own pace and live with small groups
of peers in neighborhoods or communities.
Leadership and staff take on new roles, share responsibilities and grow with the
organization. All this takes training, education, new construction, remodeling, unique
care planning systems, and state-of-the-art medical technology. Culture Change Now!
covers it all. This is your opportunity to reach out to a new market that is sure to keep
on growing.
Sincerely,
